The other approach is to use a floating iframe, which allows you to separate the display of the catalog items from the manipulation In the case of the shopping cart, the owner of the unique URL is the client This raises the question, If the users press the page refresh, how will they remember what they were referencing The server won t tell the clients what the unique URL is The clients can manage this using client-side cookies, as will be illustrated shortly Keeping Track of Unique URLs Typically, Web application frameworks use cookies to keep server-side session objects While it might seem that server-side session objects solve many problems, they in fact can cause many problems.

Instead of a standard MenuItem, define these native menu entries with the special ApplicationMenuItem class. To do this, you must provide three pieces of information. In the constructor, an integer value indicating where this menu item should be located. As with the MenuItem class, lower values indicate higher placement; unlike MenuItem, there are not separate numbers for ordinal and priority. A toString() method that provides text to display for this menu item. If you wish to internationalize this string, you must do so yourself. A run() method that will execute when the user selects this menu item. Depending on the type of menu, it may receive an Object describing the context. For example, a TextMessage would be provided from the SMS editor s menu. You can do whatever you want within the run() method, whether it s starting another application, doing file or network operations, or displaying simple UI. The next example shows a custom menu item that could be added to the Calendar application. When you create, edit, or view a meeting within the native Calendar, you can select from the menu to order pizza for that meeting. This example sets a ToDo reminder for yourself; it could also send an email request to your caterer, or start up the phone to call your favorite delivery place.

The first few screens of the setup are innocuous. You will see the Welcome screen where you will click on Next. At the User Credentials screen, enter a valid username and password for an Administrative account and then click on Next. Licensing is a necessary evil. At the subsequent Install Licenses screen, select a location for your License Keys. The default location is likely best, unless you have a good reason to change this location. At the Install License Keys screen, configure the keys that are populated into the default location from the Install Licenses screen. Enter the licensing key provided by Centrify and then click on the Next button. To Centrify a Zone is similar to an Organizational Unit. A Zone has member objects, but also allows for delegated access over the objects within the Zone. Next, provide a location for your Zones within Active Directory. You do not need to customize this information, so you can go ahead and click on Next unless you need to do so. In a standard Active Directory environment, when you bind to the directory your system is stored in cn=Computers. Similarly, all objects have a default Zone membership. At the Create Default Zone screen you will supply the default Zone, although most will simply leave the default setting and click on the Next button, as shown in Figure 3-16.

While zones are similar to an OU, they are not an OU. In fact, a zone can be linked to an OU or a container. The Default Zone then will require you to enter a domain controller
